Big Thaw begins- 28/12/2010

Observed on river today- large slabs of ice moving down the river with ducks standing on them. Be careful out there.

Big Chill latest- 26/12/2010

The river and the padlocks have thawed. Two doubles went out this morning (St Stephen’s Day) on a calm, sunny morning. There were a few slices of thin ice near the boathouse when we got back but there are probably some sizeable chunks in the cuts waiting to emerge… 98 all out! Merry Christmas
