Yare Boat Club

The river and the padlocks have thawed. Two doubles went out this morning (St Stephen’s Day) on a calm, sunny morning. There were a few slices of thin ice near the boathouse when we got back but there are probably some sizeable chunks in the cuts waiting to emerge… 98 all out! Merry Christmas

Please note – all the ferry and gate locks are frozen and the river has a thin layer of ice right across. It will obviously not be suitable for outings until the temperature had gone up –members should not attempt to use Club boats in ice as this may result in bad scratching or other [...]
