The Norwich Head ended potless for Adam and me but was good fun all the same.
The weather was cold and slightly windy, but with some glorious sunshine breaking
through the clouds to warm us as we waited at the start.
There were lots of entries from Yare Boat Club and it was also successful day for
composite crews. A big well done to Ian, Andy G, Tim (from Broadland) and Elliot
(also from Broadland) who beat the French quad by seconds to bag the trophy in a
very competitive Division 1. (They were about a minute quicker than me, Rod, Andy
C and Adam).
I think Anthony and Charles (from Molesey Boat Club) were just pipped to the post
by a Deben double in the afternoon in another very competitive race. Andy, Jane,
Rod and Tina also pulled in a good time in a mixed quad in Division 2.
After his triumph in the quad in the morning, Ian braved the strong afternoon
headwind in a single and again finished with a good time.
Well done to all who competed!
Thanks to Mark for the report.

Club Sculling Races
The Club sculling races were held on Sunday 5th July, unfortunately it rained most of the time. Mark Wakelin, who runs the new Thorpe Ferry, kindly offered to run the other way round the island for us on the day. Peter James acted as starter in a launch kindly driven by ex member Adrian Hodge and Phil manned the finish. We conveniently had 8 entries in the handicap single sculls – Adam, Carol, Chris F, Christine, Jane, Peter, Shawn and Sue. In the final, Chris beat Peter by about 3 lengths.
The mixed doubles had 4 entries:- Christine & Shawn, Jane and Anthony, Carol & Chris F, Claire & Peter. In the final Jane & Anthony had a comfortable win over Claire & Peter.
