If you are more inclined towards rowing for recreation and pleasure, this is the club for you – we have many small groups of scullers who meet for company at various times and days of the week and always welcome new members.

Most people row at the club on Saturday and Sunday mornings from around 8am.

We also have coach led sessions available on Sunday mornings at 10am and in the summer there are two coached sessions for members in singles at 6pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

During the Winter, the singles sessions are replaced by a weekly coached indoor rowing   session.

Two of Yare Boat Club members, with members from Norwich and Lowestoft Rowing Clubs, organise a recreational rowing tour on the Northern Broads every other year. The last one took place in June 2025. For more information see https://www.broadsevents.org.uk/ or contact broadsevents@gmail.com.

British Rowing also run recreational tours, in the UK and in mainland Europe, and information can be found at https://www.recrowing.org.uk/.

Super Saturdays

On the first Saturday of each month, mixed crews row in quads at 8:30am providing you with an opportunity to row with people you don’t normally row with. A great way to get to know your fellow club members.
