Paddy’s Run Round Five:

It was YBC rowing veteran David Wynn, who had dreamed of a race that would represent the ultimate challenge for the hardy, committed, competitive bunch. They call it simply, Paddy’s Run, and the scullers of Norwich, Yare and Broadland boat clubs have rowed the race every year since the winter of 2013/14.
Rowed over the 13.5 km course along the River Yare, participants race from Whitlingham Broad to Paddy’s Pump and back. Some are determined to set the fastest time while others have set their sights on outpacing a fellow rower.
YBC were pleased to see 7 of its members participate in the 5th round of Paddy’s Run. Overall, twenty-one took their single sculls on the flat calm River Yare. Andy Green set the 5th fastest time of 65 minutes 25 seconds, only 3 minutes behind the winner. The 6th round will take place on Sunday 25 February.
